'Rathdowne Series' were quality version in 4 color backs and courtsr, while 'Trump' and 'Country club' were cheaper 2 color courts.
These commenced production in the 1950's  Hudson was sold to Valentine in 1972.
By 1975 cards were being printed in Asia (Singapore)
There were about 600 different backs printed by Hudson/Valentine.
"John Sands" took over in 1989 (http://www.johnsands.com.au/htm_about.asp).
American Greetings took over John Sands in 1996, so perhaps a decision was made then to stop producing playing cards by the new owners?
