"Spades represent Julius Caesar  - Caesar, Calphurnia and Brutus
Hearts represent Henry VIII – Henry VIII, Katherine and Wolsey
Diamond represent Henry V – Henry V, Kate and Falstaff
Clubs represent King Lear – King Lear, Cordelia and Edmund
The kings being the play title (and play hero)
The Queens being the Love interest in the play
Usually the play hero’s wife –
But King Lear’s daughter and Henry V’s future wife
The Jacks being the villain
Interestingly Falstaff never actually appears in Henry V
His death in referred to early in the play – but he is not listed as
”persons represented” (although his servants feature as villains)
The aces are symbolic representation of the play"
